Emergencies
If you seek assistance with, or would like to report, a water main break, sewer backup, or other emergency concerning MDC water or sewer services, please first contact the MDC Command Center by calling (860) 278-7850 and pressing 1.

Customer Service
If you seek assistance with a billing issue, online bill payment or other customer service issue concerning an individual account, please first contact the MDC Customer Service Department at [email protected] or by calling (860) 278-7850 and pressing 4.

Utility Services
If you seek assistance with a utility services related issue such as water or sewer permits, Backwater Valve Program, or Call Before You Dig, please first contact the MDC Utility Services Department at [email protected] or by calling (860) 278-7850 Ext. 3780.

Claims
If you have incurred property damage as the result of MDC activity and are interested in filing a claim, please see the attached document, The Metropolitan District Private Property Damage Policy

In order to file a claim please submit a detailed explanation of what occurred together with any receipts or photographs supporting your claim to [email protected]

The Independent Consumer Advocate can not represent you personally in a civil lawsuit but can assist with filing claims against the MDC. If you would like such assistance please email [email protected]

Leak Adjustments
If you have incurred additional water usage fees as a result of a leak on your property you may be eligible for a credit. Please see the link to document “Requesting a Leak Adjustment Credit,” for more information.
